Long Beach Quilt Show 2012

Today was the last day of the Long Beach quilt show and we headed out early in order to be the first ones in line.  I thought wearing a "press pass" would help put vendors at ease, you know for picture taking.
We got there early but still there were long lines.
After 3 and a half hours of walking, talking, looking and a tad bit of shopping.  This is all I ended up purchasing...
7 fat quarters!  Now that just isn't like me, but I have such a cute project in mind for these and way outside of my comfort zone.  Meanwhile here are some of the quilts in the show that caught my eye.  This one mostly for the title and the pink poodle.
Fifi Can Hula Hoop by V'Lou Oliveira
I love a red and white, but you won't catch me doing all that piecing.
Totally Insane by Loretta Duffy
Ditto with this one.
Dipped in Chocolate by Karren Mitchell
Even though I enjoyed the show I got a little obsessed with my fat quarter purchases.  The only thing was I needed more to make my project.  Well Susan aka the driver mentioned a shop near by that we could go to on the way home .
And that's how I ended up finding all the rest of the fabrics that I needed to make my project.  What a fun little shop tucked away in an industrial area of Laguna Hills.  Sewing Party had just the right pallet and more than enough fabrics in the style I was looking for.
