We, as most of the country are having a bit of a heat wave. Now Southern California is not accustom to humidity so when that arrives my instinct is to get out of town. When the opportunity arose for me to attend a retreat this holiday weekend I jumped at the chance to be up in the mountains and out of the heat.
What I didn't expect was for the cabin to be decorated for Christmas?? However that almost made us more motivated to get our project completed.

Pam and her tiny baskets on point |
Pam was laying out this project which had been in her UFO pile for quite some time.
Debbie spent almost the whole weekend getting the cutting and piecing done for this reproduction quilt.
With the San Diego show right around the corner, as in 2 days away, I kept sewing pincushions.
No retreat would be complete without a side of quilt show and we were in luck with the Big Bear show being held this weekend.
Here's a sampling of the quilts from the show.

I can't thank Kerry enough for arranging the retreat and helping me escape, if only for a brief moment of time. Ready to take on the tasks at hand with a renewed spirit, that's a priceless gift.
